Laptop and Computer Hard Drives

• You can upgrade your existing Hard Drive to a larger Capacity drive or add an additional drive if space allows in your Laptop or Computer.
• The hard disk is where all your documents, photos, music, and programs are “saved”.  If your computer runs out of hard disk space, it can stop working altogether.
• With a laptop, consider replacing the hard disk with a larger Capacity Drive. Up to 750Gb 2.5” hard disks can be installed into Laptops depending on the model.
• You can also move your less frequently used files onto an external USB hard disk to free  space.
• In a Workstation computer drives you can install multiple Hard Disks and sizes range up to 1TB in Size.
• Most Computers and Workstations take the 3.5" hard Drives and can be either SATA or PATA the older style interface .
• Programs like Photoshop and Illustrator can utilise the second hard disk as a “scratch disk” when working with huge graphics files, giving you a performance boost.
• A second hard disk can be used to store your backups.
